Connections to Mentors
Through Blooming Artists' network, there are businesses spanning many industries who are willing to support and guide students who are interested in learning from them. From brain-picking to apprenticeship to internship opportunities .. but we'd love more!
If interested in spending a little time talking to any of our students, please send a note here.
In-Person Workshops
Guest-speaking on career exploration and development are offered, as well as floral design classes. Speaker's time and cost of materials/supplies are requested to be covered but accommodations can be made.
To schedule a conversation, please connect here.
Onsite Workshops
Year-round, small classes and 1:1 private instruction are available at The Flower & Vine Design Center, located at the Evergreen Valley Lavender Farm in Olympia. Scheduling is presently limited at this time, but please reach out here to inquire about upcoming availability.
Field Trips
Spring and Summer seasons allow students to visit an in-bloom, working Lavender Farm here in Olympia. They will explore the fields, learn about the different varietals and uses for each, see how a sustainable flower farm works, and maybe even sit in on an oil distillation class. Please inquire here to discuss scheduling.
Other Ways to Partner
Blooming Artists works with several other local nonprofits and school districts to connect and engage with students, as well as senior citizens and adult family homes to create transitional and/or hobby opportunities. However, costs of tangible goods (flowers), transportation, venue rental, and time/labor are costly, so we are always seeking grants or trade services to offset them. If you know of anything that helps that we can apply for (grants, gifts, donations), please share here!
